R + D Wedding on the Lake

30th April, 2020 |

Rachel and Daniel had their wedding on the lake at Grendon Lakes, which is in Northamptonshire. It was the perfect weather for this kind of wedding, the sun was out all day and it was lovely and warm.

Its a pretty and very chilled venue, so not one for those of you wanting anything quite formal. It’s a marquee which is next to a lake and if the weather is playing ball, you get married outside next to lake. If you want to stay over, the accommodation is glamping, so if you want something with a bit of a festival feel, this is your place, though of course, you don’t need to stay over if that isn’t your thing.

Rachel and Dan were lucky and got to get wed outside, confetti, drinks and group shots done, we decided to head off for some photos where we found some gorgeous willow trees and Rachel stole Dan’s hip flask. We got chatting to a friendly bloke, turns out, the friendly bloke had a speedboat, and asked us if we wanted to head out on it. Hmmmmmm, YES PLEASE!

Rachel was a bit nervous at first as she’s not so keen on boats, well, her face said something different when we got going, she was bloody loving it. So was I, massive perks of having a wedding on the lake! That was cool and by the time we came back, the food was ready and we headed off for some grub.

Then the day slipped into night and we went out and got some gorgeous golden hour shots, the sky was so clear and it was lovely and calm. The dancing was well underway and the props were being taken advantage of, I’m fairly sure they were for the kids to play with, but the adults love an inflatable guitar don’t they.
