Tamzin and Rob – DIY Wedding

My good friend and wedding planner Becky, called me and asked me to meet with Tamzin and Rob about their DIY Wedding. They were having their wedding on Tamzin’s family farm and Becky had a fantastic vision. She spoke of dried rose petals, bunting, fairy lights and fresh flowers. When I went to meet Tamzin and Rob, we had a lovely cup of tea and then walked down to the farm. The ceremony was to take place in a cow shed, and it was, quite literally a cow shed, with Bertha, standing proud in her residence.
I trusted Becky and with Tamzin speaking with such confidence, I knew it would be fabulous and I am fortunate to have a vision for ideas and I know first hand that a DIY wedding can be so creative and personal. The day arrived and it was stunning, the cow shed looked amazing, it didn’t look like a cow shed, it was adorned with an abundance of bunting, lights and dried petals. Hay bails had been carefully stacked to create walls to a bar area, ceremony room and even a quiet snug area, lined with blankets and fresh flowers to create a cozy feel.
There were so many little details, including the catering, which was run out of two little vintage citroen vans, one serving fresh fish and chips and the other fresh crepes, they smelt amazing! There was also the garden games, including a bucking bronko and a bungee run alongside more traditional games. The guests glamped in teepee tents in a neighbouring field, it looked amazing and it was such a fun day.
